Hypnotized America

Social media is to blame. ...well recently anyway. It wasn't great we elected an actor President, nor when we launched a colonial war in Iraq to make money, either. Still, no social media, no Trump and MAGA.

I haven’t heard many discuss impact of rightwing billionaires buying control of TikTok in the US. Surely everyone must realize it will suppress opposition to Trump, right? He setup the deal. TikTok has 80-90 million daily users in the US compared to 3 million total here. It’s 2 billion global daily.

So much of the world depends on mobile computing. It’s often the only computer many have ever known. Their smartphone is their internet. Their first phones, the way they court, how they consume media, and frequently critical for their employment.

Social media has taken over computers. AR glasses are going to reshape our real life experiences. AR glasses will immerse humanity in the internet and social media. Going to be a revolution as we merge further with our technology.

The re-election of Trump really calls into question the wisdom and health of our electoral system. The US has elections still but not sure it’s a democracy any longer with the spending, voter data mining/profiling, algorithmic media, and gerrymandering.

I would really like a Tesla FSD vehicle...they're really safe, good for the environment, a good deal, and the self-driving is at cybercab level. But, I don't want to give white nationalist south african guy Musk money. The only way to thread the needle is used model with paid in full FSD w/ the sale

America re-elected Trump in 2024. If there wasn't election fraud, Democracy, at least as America does it, has proven itself incompetent and a failure as governing philosophy. Despite elections America isn't very democratic, I'd argue. Or, the populace is fundamentally incompetent to vote.

The smartphone may be a more important/influential product/technology than the PC. The form factor changed so much. Texting became universal. The idea of communicating in small text snippets rather than calling and talking. Work email claimed a part of our homelife.

Think nations need to become like states are today in the US. They should be trusted to carry out administrative duties broadly, but big decisions about war and peace be left to an supernational body with far more power than the UN today. Nationalism is tribalism, and its a destructive viral meme.
