So cool: a few days ago, I got a message from a descendant of the 18th C Bordelais family that was the subject of my 1st book (from 2000!). He sent photos of Victor and Delphin de Lamothe's portraits. It's amazing to see the images of these men I spent so much time reading and writing about.

I remember when it was a black mark if a circuit court was regularly overturned by #SCOTUS. Doesn't it seem as if SCOTUS should be embarrassed that suddenly they are overturning all the courts all the time? That maybe the lower courts are getting it right and they are the problem?

History professor here. Classes start in a little over a week. I guess I will be indoctrinating majors with "woke" ideology as I discuss with them what is actually going on in our world and how it affects their ability to be serious historians.
