I’m like if “dourness” were a person. Opinions are mine. He/him/his.

INSTAGRAM AD: Tired of complicated relationships? Ready for fun? Get the app! ME: Yeah, nah, I’m gonna pass but good luck. INSTAGRAM AD: What about introverted single gamers? Coffee dates?? Neurodivergent folks with bondage kinks?! ME: I said NAH. Now be a good app and show me dice ads again.

FRIEND: How allergic to cats are you? ME: I get real sneezy when I’m around them, but as long as I don’t touch my face or get scratched I’m ok. FRIEND: Have you thought about allergy shots? ME: No. Not unless I met someone I really liked who had a cat. Then yeah, I’d get all the shots.

“Why should I pay for something I won’t use?” is an infuriatingly selfish argument. Almost as infuriating as, “how can the free market compete with government-owned public options?” First: You already fund all kinds of shit you don’t use, and that doesn’t benefit you or your community with taxes.

Opinion: Mamdani's idea may sound appealing, but it's NYC taxpayers who will take the hit, subsidizing discounts they may never even use.

One of my former coworkers, the guy who did the VIZ localization for all five seasons of Sailor Moon Classic, all the original movies, three seasons of Crystal, InuYasha, Yashahime, and Bleach (among others) got into localization because as a child that inaccuracy annoyed him.

citing pokemon being popular as proof there was no anti anime sentiment in the 90s is some crazy work when a really infamous thing that gets shared around is how they called rice balls jelly doughnuts

Apparently P*ypal now asks for customer opinions on accounts sending invoices. If you are paying an invoice to a nsfw artist, do NOT mention NSFW in any way, keep it blank even. you risk both your account and the artists.

My mental health the last few months has gotten noticeably worse. Trying to find a job while my savings dries up is demoralizing to the point that I feel like maybe I should just give up. It’s difficult to be around friends, and I’m losing interest in anything that isn’t just a passive distraction.

This can also be a thing people do if they have difficulty transitioning between tasks or locations (and probably other stuff I can’t remember). You just gotta sit sometimes until your brain is ready for that new thing, even if it’s a thing you absolutely love.

Although I will say presenting “people hanging out in their cars for an hour after work just for some goddam me-time “ as a new development is amusingly revealing of Bloomberg’s detachment from anyone who had a real job ever.

ME, to my therapist: I think I might be open to dating again. It sounds like a nightmare, though, and I’m not sure how to even meet people. MY PHONE: Yo we got you, my man. Insta? INSTAGRAM: HEY I HEAR YOU WANNA DATE OR WHATEVER CHECK OUT FEELD OR HIKI OR THIS SF-SPECIFIC THING CALLED SHUFFLE.

These Best Buy ads promoting Microsoft’s AI are a little on the nose. It’s just two people clearly suffering from psychosis having everything dumbed down, then being told they’re geniuses for doing absolutely nothing.
