#Census done, took about 15min. Glad we didn't have to go to Bethlehem for it, with all the bad accommodation reviews.

Long rows of solar panels march across the desert, and underneath them, where the ground should be baked and bare, there are rows of green.

A very warm welcome to Kuranga native plants nursery and cafe, open as of today in #Warrandyte on the site of the old Beasley’s nursery. Great have this excellent business and lovely people here.
Actual exchange: Google, confidently: you researched estrogen therapy for #ProstateCancer and were instrumental in the PATCH trial. Me: Absolutely not true. G: Yes sorry, I made that up. Me: Well, don’t do that. G: I can’t help it. So yes, if you’re wondering: we’re screwed.
If you need something to hew you more closely to your purpose, your true North, in the practice of medicine today, read this- the Syme Oration in full. @racsurgeons.bsky.social
A standing ovation at the George Adlington Syme Oration during RACS ASC

Astonishing Syme Oration by surgeon Mark Edwards, citing Maya Angelou before a careful exposition ending- 'one day even you will forget the details of operations you did... our legacy is not carved in stone. It is carried in people, who will never forget how you made them feel'.

It is the year 2026, computing technologies are so advanced and ubiquitous that they use most of the power we generate and farming land we need, and yet @microsoft.com Word cannot cope if you select and try to open more than one file at a time.
I am honoured to have been asked by @euplatinum.bsky.social to provide a "Words of Wisdom" contribution (the irony does not escape me), about the PATCH trial of transdermal estrogen for #ProstateCancer Corrected online proof is here: authors.elsevier.com/a/1nHlG14kpm...

Fun fact: if toothpaste, even so tiny a piece that it cannot be seen, flicks off one bristle and lands in your eye, it stings like anything. How’s your day going?

An admirable quality in family, friends, colleagues, charities… For a bus going to a specific destination: not so much. #ASCO26
Here are the #ASCO26 sessions at a glance, 2-page view. Friday and Tuesday put together at the end, as they are shorter days and I can only include 4 images. Full document here: cdn.bfldr.com/KOIHB2Q3/as/...

Before you get excited, web site hacker trying to harvest a signature I had to provide using my mouse in this Year of our Lord 2026 where we actually have secure technology designed and fit for the purpose of electronic signatures: this does not resemble my real signature at all.
Just said to someone, "Today's news is tomorrow's fish and chips wrapper" and then realised (a) that has not been literally true for years, and (b) most people will have no idea what I'm talking about (probably as per usual).
I bought some of these at the local supermarket yesterday but they didn’t have the annoying little identifier stickers on them. Checkout lady: Are these sassy apples? Me: Well to be fair I haven’t heard them say anything yet.
Today I managed to tangle my belt buckle in my shoelace while on the toilet, if you want to know how my day is going.
K-M curves that never plateau always make me wonder if the treatment has simply shifted the curve to the right. If that is the case then the next question should be whether sequential monotherapy would give the same outcome, perhaps with less toxicity than combo up front. #GU26
Wisdom at #GU26: * Mack Roach: sometimes people have bad outcomes even though you did the “right” thing. * Shang Zhao: we should not use the fact that some people will do badly to justify using the most aggressive approach. * Shahneen Sandhu: always consider patient preferences.
