Good. I want my tax dollars to help people. My dream is that I don’t have to run a nonprofit that advocates for a stronger safety net while also providing free meals to the community because the government decided to take care of its people. Until then, Project Sauce will continue to do the work

Well.. today, I made 40 meals for @projectsaucenyc.bsky.social using a recipe John and Abagail used for their Independence Day dinners. I also cooked like 50 of a Mac and cheese dish that James Hemings, the chef enslaved by Jefferson used to make.

For those struggling in Atlanta (and I was ABSOLUTELY one of you after a hit and run on my bike left me bedridden for way past my finances), please check out Metro Atlanta Urban Farm in East Point (a short walk from the train). They taught me a lot while also feeding me fresh vegetables. Love them.

We are so excited to be recognized as 501c3 charitable organization. In 3 months, this group of friends came together with an idea, started cooking and packaging over 1k meals, incorporated in the state of NY, and raised thousands of dollars through grassroots marketing.
Whenever the world feels like shit, I’m glad @projectsaucenyc.bsky.social exists. We made and shared 122 meals today in downtown Brooklyn. Our design volunteers made us the beginnings of a website. The best counter to despair, is action. Action is better together. www.projectsauce.org
