there are no 'correct' grounds for being a socialist to people with a vested interest in defending the capitalist order. if you're poor, you're lazy. if you're middle class, you're envious. if you're wealthy, you're hypocritical. it's all a goalpost-moving shell game.

the thing about "champagne socialists" is that a lot of us know we were extraordinarily lucky due to the circumstances of our birth and want better lives for everyone as a result, I do not understand how this is supposed to be a gotcha

ugh just realizing the release date getting pushed back from late sept to late oct means i can't play phantom blade zero over golden week and it'll drop in the middle of the semester 😭

The usual excuse behind the rush to build these data centers is "we can't let China get ahead of us". But we seem to have no problem letting China lap us when it comes to renewable energy. Odd, ain't it?
