Hey @gooseworx.bsky.social I just got back from The Last Act. [no spoilers, wholesome story!] The theatre was totally sold out. Dozens of kids in costume. One boy behind me, (maybe 8 or 12) was mocking every sensitive scene, and anyone who'd cry over them. As 8 year old boys do.. But then-(1/3)

This is a great thread about internet culture.. But it's one I can't relate to. I sit in the "just under 30" category, but I've never had the experience of being involved with an online community to the point of being friends with members there... (1/2)

There's an interesting problem in digital preservation, which is that preservation only exists actively. Only the things you actively move to new formats, survives. Community is probably the same way: it has to be actively maintained in order to outlive whatever spot it's currently in.

Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #1,618,377! Wild to think that it's almost my 1-year anniversary on this site, it's been a long 11months... Neat to be among the sub-2mill though.

Welp. Farewell 2023! On the one hand, you were a remarkably stable year for me, all things considered. On the other, you have been the first in a long while I've seen no meaningful developments of skill. So farewell old year! I shall celebrate your passing with chocolate peppermint popcorn.
