What a fantastic day we had at the Cranleigh Show on Sunday! We had our busiest Man Van event of the year so far - with a large amount of men getting tested, plus some more taking some of our home-testing kits!

We're back at Guildford Farmers' Market tomorrow, Tuesday 4th August! If you're in Guildford High Street, come and visit the Prostate Project Man Van between 11am and 3pm. We'll be offering FREE prostate cancer tests (PSA blood tests) for eligible men.

The NHS has warned that blood stocks have fallen to just three days' supply for some blood types, with the recent heatwave leading to fewer people coming forward to donate. It needs around 5,000 blood donors every day to keep supplies at safe levels.

If you're coming along to the Cranleigh Show this Sunday 2nd August, why not stop by the Prostate Project Man Van and say hello? Our volunteers will be offering FREE PSA blood tests from 11am–3pm. There's no need to book - simply turn up. You may be eligible if you are:

This weekend, David Hanna is taking on the North Downs 50 Ultra Challenge in aid of The Prostate Project. It's a tough 50km route through the Surrey Hills, starting and finishing in Guildford, so it's no small challenge - especially in this heat!

Our friends at The Fountain Centre are running another of their excellent workshops for men having hormone therapy (ADT) for prostate cancer.

The Rt Honourable Sir Jeremy Hunt MP, former Conservative Health Secretary and Chancellor, has been a supporter and keen advocate of the Prostate Project for many years, and it was a pleasure to welcome him on his recent visit to our labs.

It's fantastic to see the first patient recruited into the LDR-BURST clinical trial, which is comparing two treatments for localised prostate cancer and looking at how they affect side effects and quality of life.

A major study has found that focal therapy can be as effective as surgery or radiotherapy for some men with localised prostate cancer, while causing significantly fewer side effects by only treating the cancerous area of the prostate.
