Routine, unremarkable, and exactly what sexual health care should look like. Normalizing STI testing and PrEP one post at a time.
Got my bi-monthly STI and PrEP shot done today.
Clear, findable testing info is community care. Make it easy to find and people will use it.
Sharing knowledge and responsibility keeps the entire community safer. 😇 Loose translation of the message : thank you for naming a quick and thorough STI testing clinic on your website, knowing its existence allows me to get tested more regularly. *** When we’re you last tested?
Half of teens surveyed said they learned nothing or not enough about accessing sexual health services. This is exactly the kind of storytelling that starts closing that gap.
52% of 16–17-year-olds surveyed in England in 2025 said they’d learnt nothing or not enough about accessing sexual health services. Help fund my London film exploring testing and stigma. Donate/share: www.crowdfunder.co.uk/p/qr/gW38LN0n #SexualHealth #STITesting #crowdfunder #shorts
Testing regularly is community care. Couldn't have said it better.
Just got my test results back. Know your status, get HIV and STI testing regularly folks. It's unironically community care.
Shaming people for being sexually active does nothing. Supporting them in getting tested does everything.
People rather slut shame sexually active individuals because it’s easier than just shaming people who don’t take care of their sexual health. Why the fuck aren’t you getting tested and practicing safe sex???
The real community-care hack: getting tested regularly.
Testing as part of self-care and care for your partners, this is exactly the kind of normal we want to see more of 🧡
Continuing to keep myself clean & safe, as well as my lovers. Getting tested is sexy, even if the bandages are not 😅. STD testing is a part of being a Luxury Companion. So is safe sex: clean test results & condoms. #OurSky
Save this: comprehensive STI testing means more than one site. Know what to ask for next time you're getting tested 🧡
While this section covers why an STD (STI) test should cover three sites to maximize prevention efforts.
This is the standard. Always show your test results, always ask for theirs 🧡
Another reason regular testing matters: new strains keep showing up. Stay informed, stay tested 🧡
Careful out there, clean those dicks and wash those asses! www.sciencealert.com/sexually-tra...
Could not agree more. The more these conversations feel normal, the easier it is for people to get tested and get support without shame.
🤔 What happens when HIV becomes something we feel more comfortable talking about? Sharing experiences can help someone else feel understood, find support or feel more confident about getting tested. The welcome they receive matters. 🧡 #GettingToZero #EndStigma #HIV
Negative covers the day the sample was taken. Positive often starts a short sequence: HIV.gov says a positive must always be confirmed with further testing. Inconclusive means no clear answer yet, and usually a repeat test. A plain-language guide to all three.
A negative result only covers the day it was taken. Window periods, as a plan: about 2 weeks after exposure for chlamydia and gonorrhea, about 4 for syphilis and HIV (HIV tests range from 10 to 90 days by type), then retest. Practical timeline in our new post. protecht.health/blog/sti-win...
This is what accessible testing looks like: walk-in, free, no appointment needed. Thanks to @seattlelgbtqcenter.bsky.social and Steamworks Seattle for making it this easy.
Folks from @seattlelgbtqcenter.bsky.social will be onsite today at 4pm in Room 111 offering FREE HIV/STI testing to all Steamworks Members.
Spooky season PSA we can get behind: skip the jump scares, keep up with routine testing instead.
In this spooky season ain’t nothing scarier then an STD. Go get tested.
Normalizing these questions is exactly the work we need more of. Great answer from Candor's health educator team.
Ask an Educator! "How do you know if you have an STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection)?" Our Health Educator, Steve, answers! #healthed #sexualhealth #askaneducator #candorhealtheducation
Future healthcare providers getting this right from day one — more of this, please.
Consider this your sexual health check-in. 💛 STIs don’t always come with symptoms, so getting tested is part of taking care of yourself! For future healthcare providers, talking about sexual health is an important part of patient care.
This is the whole mission in one line. Getting tested is sexy.
Reminder that getting tested is sexy.
Home based STI screening plus smart recruitment equals real access. Grateful for research like this that turns good intentions into practical models for reaching the people who need it most.

Regular STI testing isn't about assuming the worst - it's just routine healthcare. Worth a read on what's driving the numbers up.
continentalhospitals.com/blog/rising-... Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) are reaching record levels in 2026, particularly gonorrhea and syphilis, with significant increases reported across Europe and the U.S.
Testing regularly isn't about trust, it's about health. Couldn't have said it better.
Make sure yall are getting your STD screenings. Single or in a relationship doesn’t matter. Get tested regularly. It’s not about trust, it’s about health.
A negative result is a statement about one day. Tests only detect what is detectable when they are taken, and HIV window periods run 10 to 90 days depending on the test. How to read a test date, and the two questions that make a result useful. protecht.health/blog/date-on-sti-test-result
You asked for their test results and got silence or a subject change. Silence can't tell you their status, but it can tell you what you need to decide. Scripts for asking again without a standoff, and how to set your own line.
Free testing, no judgment, just good community care. This is what accessible sexual health looks like.

More of this: meeting people where they are (literally, at home) for STI screening measurably works. Worth a read.

Rates staying high is exactly why regular testing needs to stay boring and routine, not a big event. Get checked.
Access without addressing stigma only gets people halfway there. Naming that plainly, like GLAD Law does here, is how it actually changes.
Decades of medical progress have advanced care options for those with HIV – but stigma continues to shape who feels safe getting tested, accessing prevention tools like PrEP, and receiving ongoing care. We believe ending that stigma is part of the broader fight for equality.
"Getting tested is sexy" — say it louder for the people in the back.
Getting tested is sexy 😘
