Jason felt Ezra's eyes on him. Yet, for some reason, he was too ... reluctant to look back. What would he find there? "Many," he answered solemnly. His mother for a start. Then, another mother by the end of it. This kid didn't need to know that, he thought.

Jason's words scared him, but remained reassuring at the same time .. Ezra knew there was no being coddled in the responsibilities he'd taken. They were hard truths, & he appreciated them all the same. "My team.. We all know what we're getting into for the most part." ++
