This pose is based off of some of Uekawa's Sonic Adventure artworks, which are super stylish, loose and fun. If you need to practice dynamic poses, then THAT makes for some good references/ practice.

I drew it mainly out of boredom but also to try drawing the headshape again, I gotta try it at a different angle next time, try figure out different perspectives

Ngl I don't every rly draw characters with this physique so this was a bit of a nice learning experience. I also don't often draw sharks so it was a new head shape for me, which I'm happy with the result with their mouth open properly too! This guy's super fun to draw, idk why he just is.

I think this is the first proper digital drawing I've done where I like "had a better base" or smthng, like the sketch uses more and clearer shapes, mainly for the torso and arms.

On a side note, one thing that's kinda cool is that it feels like I can always remember the designs of characters I've drawn, like I can forever remember what they look like after drawing them if I didn't before. It's like I'm studying them lol.

(Also I noticed that I forgot the tail fin, it was 4AM I was too tired to noticeeeee)

I wanted to use the like "blurry/speed/shakey" lines thing because I haven't given it a proper try and it's always looked half-baked. I also somewhat wanted to visualise how he runs in my head, and get the general arc of at least the arms (without animating it or doing multiple frames lol). His elbows lead the movement of his arms, with his hands being dragged along.

I remember around this time I would only colour in shadows for something, instead of colouring the whole thing. It worked for some things, like Whites or peaches (as you can see on Pizzelle) but then for othwr colours I could only colour the shadow what the actual object's colour was or it'd get pdd really quick.

Only thing I can really add is this is an example of why I wanted to switch to digital around this time, it can be so hard to get a good picture without shadows or wrong colours.

I really don't have much to say about this one, I was just trying to finish it after a point. This is the first time my fursona has dyed fur (of this manner at least) and it'll probably be permanent-ish, so that's something.
If you leave to big of a gap in time working on a drawing, you lose something alomg the way and you can probably see it in your own artwork too. XD

A multi-colour pen doodle of Heatblast. I wanted to replicate the black inner shading of Alien Force/Omniverse, since it looks really good there and provides a sense of light from his magma and fire.

A coloured doodle of a Raichu. It's one of my favourite pokémon, and I spent a while drawing it to digure out how to do so. This is ine of the practices.

A digital drawing depicting an anthropomorphic dragon character named Marcel. He's mainly brown and a reddish-orange colour, with dark red patterns, blue shorts and uh, mass.

Mainly I wanted to try out a new method of like "skeleton building" when sketching characters, mainly dividing the torso into different shapes to include the ribcage/upper torso (not like you'd see it on this guy tho XD). It does help a lot though, I should try it at different angles more.

I like adding a shadow and cool backdrop for character pieces normally, and I had some fun with this one, the rainbow gradient bordering the background and the ben-day dot shading overlaying it looks nice imo.

My computer makes everything undersaturated so the colours kinda come out a surprise to me half the time. I do pick colours slightly duller than what I intend for that reason, but it hits Marcel pretty hard at times, especially the shorts oml! they are NOT that blue on my computer screen lol.

A page with 4 characters on it, them being Kirby, Marx (from Kirby), the Knight (from Hollow Knight) and an original character.

I mainly wanted to show off the full page rather than single drawings on it (which is why the drawings are so low-res XD).
The page is grey and not white so I don't burn my eyeballs out.

Kirby is simple, it's got thick lines and Ben-day dot shading. The OC is done a lot like the Marx, with thinner lines and the same shading technique.
I need to find a better brush for it though, because the method I used for Marx turned out way worse on it.

(Is anyone even reading these? They are moreso here to reflect on the process and quirks of a piece so it doesn't matter if they're read or not).

It's Marx, the devious lil' devil! He's got the wings out and all.

I tried a new way to shade, mainly using a spray tool and using like the lasso tool thingy to select specific areas, helps save on layers without being messy! It let me do more soft shading than I'm used to.
The hexagon patterns on his wings is done the same way, but with hard wild colours.
