mario 64 romhacks are THE reason i believe there are in fact objective principles Good Game Design (since in terms of character/level parity) in that mario 64 romhacks often fail at being enjoyable or understanding the kind of levels mario was designed for

usually when someone speedruns a game that kinda sucks it's because the speedrun tech is awesome, but now and then you see someone speedrunning a game that's kinda just dull menus for 4 hours straight and you have to wonder what brought them here

i was kinda expecting Yakuza Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name to be a silly sidegame to Ichiban's adventure, a real Lion King 1½ for Like a Dragon 7. I wasn't expecting it to be everything Yakuza 6 failed to be insofar as a grand finale and sendoff to Kiryu as the protagonist of the series.

so far i have 2 issues with splatoon raiders: 1. the ui has a lot of issues carried over from the multiplayer games, like warning you that youre dying by blocking out 70% of your screen 2. a big chunk of the ost is discordant ambience accompanied by a vaguely melodic lawnmower otherwise its great

rice, bizarrely. the texture of it in my mouth makes me start gagging. this is a big problem because like half the food cultures of the world revolve around rice in some way similar small wet grain items like grits or couscous have a similar effect
