The Bride! on the other hand...plot and dialogue was ropey af. Christian Bale got played taking that role. However, there was a thrilling absurdity to it all - a ragtag of ideas and chaotic scenes which kept me watching. #maggiegyllenhaal

I really enjoyed No Other Choice. So many gruesome & wickedly funny moments to front the underlying indictment of the corporate environment. However, the best dark comedy of the London Film Festival 2025 so far goes to Bugonia. #LFF2025 #ParkChan-wook

Ozon's adaptation of Camus's The Stranger: really enjoyed Ozon's take on Mersault, felt like a reinvigorated approach to the philosophical perspective with a highly aesthetic cinematic style. Puzzled why some folks are referring to the subject as existentialism...absurdists, the lot of them! #LFF25
Blue Moon, Richard Linklater's latest: dialogue-focused & it's sharp, fast and rollicking. Ethan Hawke's best performance yet - he plays American songwriting legend Lorenz Hart. Never seen Hawke so small and under 5ft! V different from all other Linklaters but that's his unpredictable style! #LFF

Rocky start today scrambling around the house looking for things I needed to pack my bag, forgetting my headphones, dealing with smarmy waiters & running late. Then had a Wagamama & to see a film adaptation of a disturbing book based on absurdist philosophy. Can confirm I now feel right as rain.
Frankenstein: Guillermo Del Toro, true to his track record, has created another hot monster feature (Elordi might be too much here, though?). Fabulous world-building, so emotive and captivating. However, pacing seemed a little off. Could be a little more concise. #LFF #Londonfilmfestival2025
