I lost an a friendship not because we disagreed, but because when racism entered the conversation, empathy left it. If someone can't acknowledge the history, context, and lived experiences of marginalized people, they're not a safe friend for me. Protecting my peace isn't easy, but it's necessary.

I'm incredibly honored to be featured in @bearworldmag.bsky.social For a long time, people told me what community was suppose to look like. I learned that my power wasn't in fitting into someone else's mold it was in showing up as myself. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my story.
When we took office, NYC had a $12B deficit. Today it’s zero. And we didn’t close that gap on the backs of working people. We closed it while funding parks, libraries, safer streets, & public housing. Call it Pothole Politics or Democratic Socialism: We are government that delivers for the people.
