(Apologies for the different tone) Feeling a bit existential tonight. I’ve realized that I assembled this cage bed about 8 months ago, but that portion of it has yet to be used in any scenes. Kinda wondering what the point of the dungeon (and all the other gear) is if I rarely use/wear it.

And that’s a wrap on @chifetish-wknd.bsky.social 2026! This event hit me harder than expected because last year’s edition was the 1st big kink event I attended. I remember how terrified I was walking into Jackhammer for the opening party. Just a year later, I entered DS and knew >50% of the crowd.

Chicago is the biggest (and greatest) small town in the world, anecdote 1xx: Walking along Lincoln Avenue en route to the CFW contest in full gear. Just happen to run into the leader of one of our urbanist advocacy orgs, who is also a friend and compliments me on the gear.

And for Day 3 of CFW it’s back to the Fox MX. Swapping out the hood for the helmet and goggles this time, though

After a lovely day riding coasters up in Gurnee, Sunday brings the Chicago Pride Parade, where I will be marching with the Chicago Coalition of Kink Clubs. For this very visible day I’m debuting my Fox MX kit, paired with the Moose boots and of course my neoprene hood.

Happy Pride weekend! Starting off what should be a very busy few days with the Fetish Bar Crawl. Since this past weekend was the solstice, warm colors feel particularly appropriate.

Gotta say it’s wild that both 1) There are 3 major kink/BDSM cons within 5 days of each other in September and 2) It’s possible to be on the waitlist for all 3 simultaneously

Pride Fest (and house party, and CODE) fit: so very orange (yes, even the Crocs)

Worlds collide: Today was the one-day conference at which everyone who works in my industry in the local region attends. One of the first phrases from the organizers was “welcome to family reunion, but for our chosen family” Taken aback because that is verbatim how kinksters describe our cons.

I feel like the big leather/fetish brands are missing an opportunity not selling branded regular leather wallets (unless I’m missing something)

Only in Chicago* Scene-aware friends ask if “the leather weekend” is this upcoming weekend. I confirm it is, but then realize I have to clarify that it’s just *one of* the leather weekends in this city, and not the biggest one they’re probably thinking about. *Plus a small handful of other cities
