Life has been a bit full on. I took myself out the other day to explore a part of the city I hadn’t t been to before. It felt very serene, a much welcomed respite. I slowed down, explored watched some Jackdaws exploring in perfect light…and then came word of the Waxwings! #birdingscotland #jackdaws
I never tire of seeing these incredible birds. Their name comes from the red tips, that appear as if dipped in wax. What I learned today was that red pigmentation comes from the berries they eat. Seems obvious, yet I hadn’t considered it! Love nature #waxwing #birdingscotland
