At lunch, Eliza jumped into my lap, tore off part of my napkin, then set about producing this work of abstract art by my chair. Or maybe it's a message in Japanese.
Thanks Amie for hooking us up with the Universal Cat Delivery System. These two from the same litter make me think we've been doin' it wrong all these years.
*Sigh* Julie just ran across this undeveloped roll of 8mm Kodachrome movie film. I wanted to get it developed, but just found out the last color Kodachrome developing ended in 2010. (Paul Simon has something to say about that.) I guess I'll never know what's on it.
Just had my 2nd radiation treatment. Found out the MRI machine has a freakin' linear accelerator built into it to generate the radiation. I SO want my superpower by now. Hulk, Spiderman, whatever.

Damn. We just had to say goodbye to Arya. She was not quite 7, but had stopped eating or drinking. It turned out her kidneys were enormous, and bloodwork showed her numbers were beyond the point of recovery. I always figured she would be the one to make it to her 20s. She will be sorely missed.
Just encountered a snake at our back gate, which then slithered under the car. Apparently it was a Yellow Belly Racer. Fine, just surprising. We've lived here about 40 years and have never seen a snake on the property. stock photo:
If a tree falls in the front yard, does it make a noise? Damn right it does. About a 3rd of our 75 foot tall cottonwood spontaneously broke off and fell, completely blocking three lanes, and smashed an unfortunate passing car's windshield. (No injuries).
I can see if you have a business that involves hauling equipment and a crew, and can write-off the operating expense, but it seems ridiculous that people are buying these to go to the store.
So glad to get back in our Escape hybrid. That truck was a nightmare even to get in or out of the driveway, much less park anywhere else. Try as I might, I never got it above 13 MPG. But I look around and I see these behemoths everywhere, most often with one occupant, and no cargo. ...
We got our car back from the shop yesterday, after $1500, probably thanks to this guy. A wire-harness had been chewed through, right through the copper wires. The only loaner we could get was an F150 FX4 extended-cab, which to me is a monster truck. ...
I look like I was in a St.Pat's brawl, but really just chin-planted jogging across the street. Yay.
Great time for the power to go out, when it's about to plunge to below freezing. But I finally have an excuse to use the little generator I bought after the Snowpocalypse of 2021.
I think i feel like this too after too much Christmas food & drink
Clearly all the drones are coming from Grover's Mill NJ. Has no one even checked?
I never feel right putting a "like" on posts like this - that could be misinterpreted
Even this is more than my level of commitment to Christmas yard-decorations
Hans Gruber beginning his yearly fall from Nakatomi tower, on our mantle
We watched Idiocracy the other day - just seemed so fitting :-(
Over on FB, just got a like from Mel Brooks! On his book About Me, I said I'm waiting for About Me the lunchbox, or maybe the flamethrower. (The book was great BTW.)
As long as it's not the UK or Japan- the worst part was trying to shift left-handed
American here. I remember renting a car as a tourist in Germany, and the rental staff went into a panic when they saw that the car I had reserved had a manual transmission. "But you're American!" "But I know how to drive!"
