MTG’s audition video for the role of queen of MAGA as the next generation tries to unseat Trump in his current weakness. There will be more suitors in this race. The weaker Trump gets, the more opportunists will jump into the race.

This is Mamdani’s “these aren’t the droids you’re looking for” moment. Trump has always fawned over people with combinations of charisma, power, wealth, and popularity. Mamdani has enough of those things that Trump once again wants to be seen with “the cool kids” #mamdani

The ongoing corruption in the Oval Office is too often overshadowed by the outrage of the day. This is important to pay attention to. Trump probably gets away with it, but we have to protect the country from the next Trump, to put better guardrails in place. #corruption #emoluments
The importance of this is that whether or not you believe in MTG’s sincerity (I don’t), her saying these things creates cracks in the MAGA movement that give some voters the permission to break from it and break from Trump. She’s obviously distancing herself from something she sees coming.

It’s sad that this is all too often true. The right really has to get back to having principles and not treating everything through a partisan lens. This didn’t used to be the case.
