Trans activist Marsha P Johnson founded the Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries, which provided housing, legal aid, and other support to trans youth. She is remembered by those her knew her for her kindness and generosity. #transhistory #queerhistory

Amongst the Ahwari/Marsh Arab people of Iraq, mustarjil is a traditional trans masc identity, described here by the Ahwari man Amara bin Thuqub in the 1950s. The most famous mustaril is the singer Masoud El Amaratly who recorded and toured across Iraq, Syria and Lebanon in the 1920s and 1930s.
