Have long believed that there should be mandatory ten year sentencing for anyone who assaults an emergency worker - paramedics, hospital staff, firemen, you name it - in the course of their duties. You can obviously put these guys on the same list.

Two things about Star Trek that are strong in my memory - 1) I loved that show as a kid. 2) Even as a kid, I hated the obligatory 2 minute comic relief scene at the end of each episode, complete with sprightly "comic" incidental music, just to underline THIS IS FUNNY, GUYS! IT ALL WORKED OUT FINE!

I guess there may some thin comfort in seeing phenomena like Trump & Farage as a sign we have moved on, a kind of inoculation against fascism, a weakened dose where last century it took a whole world war and gargantuan slaughter. Maybe our body politic is a more resilient organism this time around.

Largely unmoved by all the GTA 6 stuff. But then I was never really able to get onboard with the franchise. Watched my wife play San Andreas back in the day with great professional interest, but no pressing desire to play myself. Ditto IV. Just something missing from the mix. Ducked V altogether.
