Happy Star Trek Day (US)! Decided to clean out the piles of tree detritus built up behind the gutter guides at the 2 corners of the front of the house, and...yeah, bits of acorns and leaves and twigs and other tree debris just kept on falling and falling on me

Which damn feline declared today Reject All Freshly Opened Canned Food Offerings?!? Motherfuckers, the price keeps going up, and I can't afford for you picky bastards to reject all these cans.

This is Lucky, my neighbors' cat. He was once again crying at my patio door to be allowed inside for food & a break from the heat. His humans are currently having a family party in their backyard. Apparently Lucky is not lucky enough to be part of the family. Lucky needs a better home—& not mine!

A black cat with an orange collar and orange bell sprawls across the wood floor and white tile of the OP's kitchen. This cat does not belong to the OP. She's already taken in 3 other cats, feeds this cat & his other cat "sibling" & a stray at her home, and then also feeds a dozen or more community cats twice every morning on her walk. The OP doesn't want nor need another cat.

I got a really nice shout out for my volunteer work with the kitties at Tulsa SPCA! The older I get the more I suspect I understand cats and how they behave far better than I do humans....

Screenshot of a portion of the weekly volunteer newsletter from Tulsa SPCA. Under the headline "SHOUT OUT!" appears the following text:

"A huge shout-out to Sarah for always
being there for our cat room! She comes
in regularly to help, but she also goes
the extra mile to spend time with our
nervous kitties and help them feel safe
and comfortable. She has a special way
of bringing them out of their shells.
We’re so grateful for the patience,
kindness, and care she gives our cats
every time she’s here!"

Monday morning thunderstorm, so I took pity on the neighbor's used-to-be-indoor kittyand let him inside for the duration. Hell, if I'm letting him spend the hottest hours of the day inside, he might as well come in to avoid the rain!

A black cat named Lucky is standing atop pet stairs before a window that overlooks the homeowner's backyard. The morning skies are ominous with impe.dng thunderstorms. Lucky seems concerned.

Oh golly, another rejection email from a company's LLM-powered hiring platform sent @ 2:30 AM on a Saturday. Glad no one's putting effort into making the appearance of human involvement in this process. So glad I spent $$$ for pro help to better market my skills & experience to a fucking LLM agent

Oof. Door-to-door pest control salespeople rolling along my street on their Segway Ninebot knockoffs & hitting me up while I'm on my front porch in the shade reading need to understand that no, I don't buy pest control this way, and no, the ants & spiders & wasps other me not. Share the land, man!

Revisiting Justice League Unlimited's "The Once and Future Thing Pt 1: Weird Western Tales," written by the superb and greatly missed Dwayne McDuffie. So much fun...but no part of Oklahoma looks like that!

My Monday: Floof pooped in his carrier on the way to the vet. But hey, it was solid & easy to clean up once we arrived. Floof pooped in his carrier on the way home from the vet. Not solid. Very smelly. Traffic was backed up. I was fighting hard not to upchuck from the stench. Fun times.

In TNG's "The Neutral Zone," why didn't SOMEONE ask one of the school teachers to lend the unfrozen people an Earth history text or video highlight reel or any media to bring them a little up to speed? Nope, just stash their freezer-burned butts away to trot 'em out for plot points when needed!

Oh the fun of doing all the things ya need to do to get another month's supply of yer sanity med only to be stymied by...the health care system and maybe too the health insurance? Blargh. Sanity is overrated.

Hey there, Universe, it'd be really great if you'd cut me some slack and, say, let me finally land a new job? Dealing with ALL the stress isn't fun, and then it keeps piling on? Not a way to live. Also, if you could pass along to the CDS that no more cats are welcome here, that'd be great. Merci!
