'Revolution' happens tomorrow (our annual 2-day programme symposium) Many will present their research. Invited speakers are Caroline Isaksson, Lund University and Luc Bussière, University of Gothenburg who will share their findings and scrutinise our 'revolution' 👀 Exciting days await us!

Germline removal increased stress resistance in both sexes, but increased lifespan only in males, and only when high costs of mating were excluded (above). Germline removal reduced growth but more so in females. Germline maintenance seems costlier for males than for females. 2/2

New paper out at #evolution: "Tracking hybrid viability across life stages in a natural avian contact zone" Group effort taking advantage of our rare dataset tracking hybrids for nearly 2 decades, and comparing their performance to pied & collared flycatchers across their whole life. 🧪🪶🌍

Group effort by @qvarnstromlab.bsky.social with @carosegami.bsky.social Yishu Zhu @pnkmenon.bsky.social @jacanajones.bsky.social. We find signs of hybrid inviability in a system where we only knew about sterility, but also surprising demographic patterns only detected thanks to long term data! 🧪🪶🌍
