ok it’s bandcamp friday this week (all $ goes to artists and not songtradr) so if you tell me 1) an emoji/vibe 2) whether you want lyrics or not and 3) whether you’re budgeting for a song or an album I’ll recommend you something out of my weird-classical collection

this is also not to fall into the trap of the woman who, having stopped to help me get my car out of a snowbank, heard a Philip Glass string quartet on my stereo and said “classical music! you must be a good person.” a few minutes earlier and she would have been scared away by George Crumb.

millennial story time: a few weeks ago I threw away a box something came in, feeling like I had thrown off the curse of my generation. unstoppable. anyway I need to return that thing now. we’ve all been right this whole time

Might anyone know of a small, non-intimidating zine-y guidebook that helps folks navigate the logistics (+ ethics) of *collaborative* publication — demystifying the design + production process; explaining formatting + rights clearances; addressing mutual accountability + collaborative review, etc.?

continuing to try to figure out whether I can write about this whole situation in a way that is useful (to me and/or others), doesn’t exploit the experiences of my colleagues who were hit harder by the implosion of the company, and doesn’t involve swimming in it for longer than is healthy for me.

LucidChart (current home to all my emotional support flow charts) just started forcing you to use their chatbot when you want to change the shape of a diagram element, and I do not have time to find a new solution about it. just let me move from square to parallelogram in peace.

so in addition to being entirely incorrect about the output, this is a really interesting data point about what the Miro team thinks their product is for. I have more thoughts about this than time to skeet right now but it kind of boils down to: are we here to facilitate a collaborative process? or…

Just opened Miro for the first time in a little while to find that it won't let me just draw a diagram, it wants to me to hang out with its little chatbot friend. So I ask it to draw three concentric circles.
