Trump ads brag about reducing fentanyl deaths. BUT-who was president in 2024? The CDC’s 2024 data shows US drug overdose deaths fell from 107,000 in 2023 to 80,391 in 2024—a 26.9% decline. Deaths involving synthetic opioids, mostly fentanyl, fell from 72,776 to 47,735, a 35.6% decline.
