The themes for the 6th mod jam are Past and Future! The restriction is Time Loop! To follow the restriction you must use the time loop as a mechanic in your mod in some way. Will you have time-specific events, puzzles that take place over multiple loops, or some other third thing? That's up to you!

Outer Wilds Mod Jam

Third place: $260
Fourth place: $130

Theme: Past/Future

Play The Mermaid Mask! And the other Detective Grimoire games too! Not really a deduction game, more like reading a book and getting a pop quiz at the end of every chapter. The writing and voice acting are great, and all the characters are super charming.

I wish games had separate difficulty settings just for the bosses. Especially soulslikes and metroidvanias. I often end up reducing the difficulty to baby mode because I suck and don't find the boss fights fun, but that means sacrificing the challenge in the non-boss parts, which I usually do enjoy.

Just finished replaying Tomb Raider 2. I wonder if an indie game with classic TR controls could be well received. Games like @sfbdim.bsky.social's Crow Country (among others) use the "outdated" shooting mechanics successfully, so maybe outdated 3D platforming mechanics deserve a comeback too?

This has been talked about to death, but mostly through the lens of consumers rather than the artists. Character design is an art; artists at Capcom spent god knows how many hours designing Grace. *Replacing* their character design is incredibly disrespectful to them!

Had a lot of fun replaying Okami. I'm glad I did, because I had apparently erased like 80% of the game from my memory after almost 20 years.

hm my epic somewhat statically hosted blue sky modding feed is doing this thing but only the first time you browse to it, and I don't feel like debugging it 🥲
