Roblox has now decided it does not give a shit about the good thing it's done for a year by quietly giving absolutely zero data how well their moderation team has done in some key areas

Screenshot showing two of Roblox's California AB 587 transparency reports. On the left is Q1 and Q2 2024 and on the right is Q3 and Q4 2024. On the left is a number of tables showing data behind Roblox's Terms, on the right is Roblox's Terms of Use and little of anything else

You know it’s a great start to a Monday when you’re woken up at 5am by some house alarms going off and you can’t quite get back to sleep

Big congrats to all of the team behind Grow a Garden for hitting a massive 8.373 million CCU For some context, this is 2.57x the peak CCU of PUBG back in 2018 when it launched, the highest CCU in Steam records. Now that is the power of #Roblox

Graph showing CCUs over the last 48 hour period. Highlighted is a peak at 15:00 BST which shows concurrent users hit 8,373,094Steam charts for PUBG which showed the all time player count peak of 3,257,248

Can confirm I'm still alive, it's nice to be doing other things At the same time, it's fun to see what has changed in the Roblox space; so I visited Twitter for the first time in 6 months, turns out very little has changed. Too many people are still there, what will it take? No idea

I will say it's great to see RDC announced with plenty of time. But I don't know about it being a 2 day affair again. It just feels too short, and I'm happy the replies say that. With the current state of the US? Doubt I'll want to travel devforum.link/3546082

Save the Date: RDC25

Hey Developers - Get ready… We’re thrilled to announce the Roblox Developers Conference (RDC) is coming back as a virtual and in-person event to San Jose on September 5-6! What is RDC? ...

Happy new year and welcome to 2025! Blwyddyn Newydd Dda a chroeso i 2025! The clock has reset, even though 2024 might not have been your year you're still here and that's great. Let's make the most of it, even if with the small wins.

In a related affair, it’s been fun to run Coolify locally, to self host some tools like a GitHub alternative and a Google Photos alternative. I’m not entirely sure if I prefer it over Proxmox but I think it has a place in my infra. Just about finding the right tool for the right project

Whenever my feed gets quiet, it does make me wonder if it’s quiet because A. folks not got a reason to post (entirely valid) or B. They’ve returned back to Twitter The fun part is that with B, I can’t tell because I’ve blocked Twitter on my network, it is a bit frustrating if they do go back

Welcome to Rail tries to communicate the obvious again devforum.link/3237100/223 I have a feeling the PM behind the new parental control features have tried to push this so down our throats and hope it'll work. It's not and Roblox is paying for it.

A fun update to The Archive coming very soon. As part of my cleaning up of Twitter, it's important that the things I've said continues to exist in some form. All 4.6k posts will be available in an easily searchable way

Meanwhile I'm writing an email to Roblox's legal team asking what is going on their their report to Cali's OAG on moderation Why no one noticed that 648 approved appeals is not the 15.8k that's in the two other tables

Screenshot of a document about moderation appeals at Roblox and how well they've done. It's contains tables on the category and type of content. One table has some really low numbers for approved appeals compared to the rest of what the screenshot shows.

I'm be honest, it's sort of frustrating that there's not been one platform where a majority of Roblox developers exist Apart from the Roblox DevForums and Discord (expect most developers aren't in the same Discord)
