Watched On Body and Soul (2017) last night, beautiful film, it won the Golden Bear at the Berlin film festival and is one of thr best films I’ve seen in a long time.

Had a really tough and trying week with work. That combined with binge watching the Sweeney last week has resulted in my being 3 vintage suits. Now utterly broke, but a dapper broke.

Weird dream last night, Jimmy Carr lead us on a team building exercise which involved him jumping the queue at karaoke causing everyone to hate us, then trying to coordinate an orgy with colleagues as Stewart Lee decided to heckle his character. Very distracting.

When I was (almost) young I was introduced to Mogwai (1999 - try not to think how long ago that was!) became besotted with them. In the separation with ‘Medusa’ I lost all my music, for the last 2wks I’ve weirdly been craving their music. Arrived to day and I feel (almost) young.

In the middle of the night the shelf in my fridge collapsed under the weight of all the wine on it. Either that or my kitchen is haunted. Either way it was somewhat stressful. Especially as you don’t check your fridge when there’s a bump in the night.

When I was at Uni I listened to a lot of Mogwai, subsequently lost all my CD’s many years ago in a house move/end of a relationship. For some reason I’ve been craving their music again all of a sudden so I’ve just bought 9 albums. Funny how cultural needs just randomly ambush you out the blue.

One of my favourite posters on here has replies disabled so I can never respond to the interesting posts he makes. Didn’t do that on Twitter and I imagine Bluesky is less toxic?

Because of this is infernal heat I’m wearing white baggy linen and I look like a right frumpy tit. Heat does not respect the boundaries of vanity.

It’s depressing how people take jovial low key advertising as some form of extreme specifically U.K. based nationalism. Was this always the case or is it a piousness originating from Brexit and identity politics?

Just put on an old Cocteau Twins viny record and spent the last 10 min trying to work out if I’ve got it on the right speed or not. Sounds magnificent either way.

Having a well earned “hydration break” basically I will do anything for retro booze. Seems fitting to have Monster Munch with it and listen to a compilation of summer songs from the heatwave of 1976.
