I feel like people have forgotten that ad blockers weren't popular because people just wanted to get something for free, it's because we can't trust ads not to fuck up our computers. If we still just had quiet simple banner ads or sideboard ads, ad blockers wouldn't have gotten as much traction.

I think it’s also super important to decouple one’s notion of β€œpassing” from β€œlooking like a supermodel”. Most cis women are not Helen of Troy but they get treated like women just the same
