Huge congratulations to @cydm.bsky.social for her Outstanding Trainee Award from Drexel Neurobiology! I have the pleasure of being Cydney's co-mentor, along with @rameshraghupathi.bsky.social . Cydney has made the most of the expertise and resources of both labs to drive her own, unique project. 🥰

In the truest sense and if we were to take a page from peripheral inflammation, Neuro inflammation needs to have multiple immune cell types participate. T/B/NK/PMNs/macrophages. Because microglia have an important role in CNS homeostasis activation could just be a response to dyshomeostasis

What isn’t neuroinflammation - a single parameter of change (morphology or molecular). The bigger question for me is whether astrocyte changes without microglia changes qualify as inflammation. To me microglia are better indicators of inflammation

Poster awards time at #ABRCMS. 57 award winners for #neuroscience. Congratulations to all presenters.

I have over the past few days begun to use this platform more than the other one. Taking a page of others who have also done so, let me reintroduce myself. I’m a biochemist turned neuroscientist, an immigrant with a keen interest in reducing disparities and inequities in academia and healthcare.

Just finished my talk at ABRCMS! Room was packed. But the better part was the Q&A - almost 2 dozen motivated students lined up. Glad to see the interest in pediatric TBI particularly in the racial inequities which was the topic of my talk. Thank you #ABRCMS for the opportunity
