We have a service dog who is about as smart as a 5 year old child and a completely untrained corgi who seems about the same, and I can’t tell if they’re always nervous because their neurosis is what makes them so good at learning, or if when you make a dog too smart they also get existential dread.

I think it's funny that the same people saying AI is the future and you can't escape it once it's been created are also trying ban open-weight models in the US. If the adoption of this technology is truly an inevitable force of nature, the OpenAI and Anthropic duopoly can only exist artificially.
