Another question for #UCWPUBR300S1. What kind of employer are you attracted to: agencies, corporations, non-profits, govt or other? Or self-employment. Do you like 9-5 work, or flexible options to decide your own schedule? (Spoiler alert -- your answer to the latter may help you choose the former).

In our #UCWPUBR300S1 class this week, we are talking about careers in public relations. I invite my students to share something they like about the field of communications or public relations. What is a skill, a communications task, or area of communications that you enjoy? Why?😊😊😊

Hello #UCWPUBR300S1 students. My first question for you this week is about reputational issues and trust. Mistakes sometimes happen. What makes people lose trust more...the mistake made by an organization, or how the organization responds (if it responds poorly). Why?❓❓❓

Here's another question about PR writing for my #UCWPUBR300S1 students in week 7 of our course. This question actually came up in class. How is academic writing different from PR writing in your view? What are two characteristics of good PR writing?🎓vs📰

A question for my #UCWPUBR300S1 students for May 25. In my view, strong writing is THE most important skill in PR. What’s one example of writing you’ve seen recently — a news release, campaign, speech, social post, headline — that really worked? What made it effective? Share a link if you can. ✍️✍️✍️⌨️

Happy Week 6 of our #UCWPUBR300S1 course to my students. Today I will talk about how evaluation supports accountability of our profession. What is one way you, as a future PR practitioner, can help strengthen the reputation of the field of public relations?🤔❓😇

Here is a question for my Monday, May 4 #UCWPUBR300S1 class. We will be talking about how to plan an impressive PR communication. What is an advertisement you can remember seeing this week? What about the ad made you remember it? (Spoiler alert...we'll be digging into how to deliver key messages).

Friday feedback question for #UCWPUBR300S1 students. What activities have been most interesting so far: 1. Discussion of real campaigns (Coke&Pepsi analysis)? 2. OGL case studies (editing AI news release) 3) Bluesky conversations, 4) MS Teams Poll questions; 5) Student PR presentations, 6) other?

Here's another question for my #UCWPUBR300S1 students on PR and research after our Monday, April 27 class. I appreciate any students who reply with their thoughts: What is one question you wish organizations would ask the public more often, but don't?🤔🤔🫤

In my #UCWPUBR300S1 class tonight (Wed Apr 22), we discussed one public relations scenario where there might be risks in trying to use AI to respond to clients. Can my students think of any other scenarios where automated AI responses might receive a negative reaction?

Here are some questions for my students in our #UCWPUBR300S1 class. We will talk about how public relations is converging with marketing. Are they the same thing? Would the PR team approach a communication issue the same way as a marketing team? Would they have the same goals? What do you think?

In my #UCWPUBR300S1 class tonight, we will talk about how technology is changing communications. One takeaway I have is the dynamic tension created by A.I. Where does AI fit in the work of PR when people crave authentic human connection? I wonder what takeaways my students will have?
