Settler attack in the village of Tuba, in Masafer Yatta. One house destroyed, 6 people injured, solar panels damaged, graffiti about Gilad Farm and the settler killed last week. 1/2

We got notified that a Palestinian delivery driver was attacked on a road nearby. We only received this short video and the location of the attack. 1/7
The first thing I noticed when I got into the West Bank, compared to last year, is thousands of Israeli flags lining up the sides of every major road. Before, you'd only ("only" of course) see Israeli flags at checkpoints, around military basis, or in settlements. 1/2
Still in Harabat al Naibi. At 6am, a few settlers walked their flock of sheeps just down the hill. They come 3-4 times a day. At times they get closer, even walking into the hamlet. They look to provoke a reaction from residents so they can attack them or call the army. Nothing of the sort today.
I'm staying in the tiny hamlet of Harabat al Naibi in Masafer Yata. Two families live here. Last month, settlers stole all their sheeps in the middle of the night. In the past year or two, there's been settler attacks too. So the families have requested that a few activists stay here every night.
I'm in Palestine Israel. Before going into the West Bank, I stopped in Jerusalem to attend a protest in front of the prosecutor's office to demand accountability for Awdah Hathaleen. 1/4
Oh and the few times this government almost collapsed was either unrelated to its treatment of Palestinians (mostly around the military drafts for Ultra Orthodox men) or because Netanyahu's line on Gaza was considered too SOFT by its coalition partners.
Israel's next elections are set for October 27. This means that the Netanyahu government, portrayed by liberal Zionists as "extremist" and unrepresentative of Israel, will be the first government in 50 years to finish its entire term. It doesn't get more representative than that.

It's old news but the radicalization of Israeli society remains shocking to me, perhaps because I see it from up close. Growing up, no one around me called the West Bank "Judea and Samaria". Now my SECULAR relatives in Israel exclusively say Judea and Samaria, and call out people who don't.

The Hidden Ties Between Google and Amazon’s Project Nimbus and Israel's Military
A WIRED investigation found public statements from officials detail a much closer link between Project Nimbus and Israel Defense Forces than previously reported.

In case the weekly images of pogroms and settler attacks weren't enough, a new report by Peace Now and Kerem Navot shows how since 2023 Israel has been de-facto annexing the West Bank.
One key myth of Zionism is that in the early 20th century, Palestinians opposed all Jewish immigration to Palestine--or even rejected Jews out of antisemitism. In reality, many Palestinians were initially open to Jewish immigration and only opposed it after the political aims of Zionism became clear
Reminder that the idea of a boycott targeting *only* Israeli settlements in the West Bank makes no sense. The government subsidizes the development of settlements & collects taxes on economic activity there, and Israeli society as a whole benefits from it. The boycott must be against all of Israel
Rather than ending never-ending wars, let's just... better process trauma
TIL: during the Spanish Civil War (90th anniversary coming up), at least two Palestinian Arabs were recruited to the Polish section of the International Brigades because they spoke Yiddish or Hebrew and most of the “Polish” brigade were Jews
New rule: anyone who says "Israel has a right to exist" must explain what that means. A right to exist as an ethno-nationalist state? Or as a democratic state for all its citizens? Or as a binational federation? Or as something else? "Israel has a right to exist" is just lazy and unhelpful.
All AIs reproduce the biaises of their society => western society is deeply, violently anti-Palestinian => most AIs are deeply, violently anti-Palestinian
Ah yes, this is what our forefathers always yearned for: a Jewish state, where Jewish cops could grab Jews and cut up their yarmulkes. Miraculous times!
Israeli police detained a Jewish man for wearing a kippa with the Israeli and Palestinian flags, then took the kippa and cut out the Palestinian flag. Because Judaism is part of the Zionist story, but the main thing is hyper-nationalism and colonialism.
Repressing and erasing Palestinian identity always takes precedence over the respect for Jewish rituals and religion

There's no such thing as "defensive weaponry". The Iron Dome means Israel is shielded from responses to its attacks and is embolded to bomb right and left without consequences. Any reasonable ban on weapons sales must include the Iron Dome jewishcurrents.org/in-democrati...

Can't think of something more obvious to say but hey, there is at least one person in Israel who came up with it, better than zero
Love to hear Jewish leaders take stock of the genocide and reassess their relationship with Israel... or wait, they mean stopping to support unions fighting for higher minimum wages or civil rights orgs 🤦🏻
In @gabrielzucman.bsky.social's excellent historical background of Trump's overthrow of Maduro: "in 1957, US oil companies generated as much profit in Venezuela as all US companies across all industries in all Latin American & European countries combined" gabrielzucman.substack.com/p/comprendre...

On ne peut pas comprendre l’enlèvement de Nicolas Maduro si l’on ignore les masses financières colossales associées à un changement de régime à Caracas.

The Bush admin took 2 years to go from "Saddam has weapons of mass destructions" to "he supports Al-Qaeda" to "Iraq needs democracy" & never admitted it was about oil Within 2 months, Trump went from "Maduro sends fethanyl to the US" to "Venezuela needs democracy" to "we're taking over for the oil"
"Gaza is also ours. We’re just letting them stay there as guests until a certain point, but Gaza is ours.” Not surprising from an overt Jewish supremacist, but it's better for them to say these things openly and explicitly so we can't pretend we didn't know. www.timesofisrael.com/culture-mini...
