1/5 Just returned from 2 weeks at #Zackenberg Research Station @zackenberg.bsky.social (NE Greenland) to upgrade the #ICOS Ecosystem tower at the fen site GL-ZaF. Damages from polar bears had made the original structure vulnerable. Time for change.

Throwback to Aug fieldwork, NE Greenland: Maintenance and calibration of #ICOS eddy covariance stations at Zackenberg - plus endless task of repairing instruments after polar bear visits. Also prepped and optimized the autonomous power system (solar, wind, fuel cells) to endure long Arctic winter.
