Splatville's Splatfest Food Guide. Bancala Walker pages 82-83. I think these pages are cute. Most of the inkling language script on this page is gibberish, but there's a few things that are translatable. i'll share the translations in the next post.

Did you know? There are famous shops in Splatsville that only open during Splatfests. The aroma tickles your nostrils, the sizzling sound of
frying food soothes your ears... Delicious Splatfest food is calling to you!

A huge simmering pot. Piping hot rice bowls. Fragrant grilled skewers. The rice bowls are extremely popular, and you can change up the flavor with spicy sauce. Chowing down while it's still hot is the Splatlandian way.

Dim sum is arranged in steamer basketsof various sizes. The wrappers and fillings are made in-house, and several people work together from early in the morning to prepare them. When you bite into it, the meat juices overflow, and your mouth fills with a torrent of flavor.

A classic flour-based dish. It's characterized by the plump shrimp tails that stick out, and the flavorful dashi batter and slightly rich sauce are a perfect match. It's hot, so be careful to not burn your tongue.

The sizzling sound coming from the wok is incredibly appetizing. While the deep-fried bread is a must-try, the fried food loaded with vegetables are also popular for easing the guilt of eating so much oily food.

Surprisingly, a shop selling glow sticks has also appeared. With the abundance of colors, they're a feast for the eyes. You could carry a stick in each hand of course, but you can also wear them on your head. Buy a ton and brighten up Splatsville!

We went to the Grand Festival! Bancala Walker pages 78-81. Translated and typeset by me. Thanks to @salmonidjester.bsky.social for cleaning. been meaning to translate this for a while now. this is some rare characterization for new Agent 3, as in-universe these pages are written by them! #splatoon

We just couldn't miss out on covering the biggest Splatfest in history! So our rookie writer leapt onto the scene to report on all the action.

A budding writer for this magazine who loves to learn new things. Although their vocabulary is a bit limited, they have the guts to convey their passionate feelings.

Just made it!
The Grand Festival, where three groups of artists are here to perform all day and night. There's NO way I'd miss it... So I headed over there with Smallfry.

Pitching the tents
First, I set up our tent by the station. It was a pop-up tent, so it was
pretty easy. This will be our home base! Uh-oh, Smallfry ran off somewhere while I wasn't looking.

Finding a photo spot
I was having so much fun in the area around the station that before I knew it, 30 minutes had flown by... I had to hurry to the stages! On my way over, I spotted a huge piece of art. This spot looks photo-worthy, picture time!

Finally to the stages!
First, I walked around the stages, starting at the Giant Clam stage, then the Seashell, then the Urchin. Then, while keeping good etiquette, I made my way to the front. It was amazing to be able to watch the performance up close!

The audience's power
The energy in the venue was so intense, I felt like I was gonna boil over. It was so satisfying to cheer, sway, bounce, and wave along with
the music, feeling everyone's hearts beating as one. Is this how it feels to get in the groove?Is this the power of music?! It was crazy!! I'd love to sit back and enjoy this spectacle from the VIP area.

Construction sounds tough
While exploring the venue, I had the opportunity to speak with an employee of the company MIKASACO, who was involved in setting up the venue. He said there were many difficulties in the construction. MIKASACO is a company that has grown rapidly over the past 10 years. It's impressive how they take the best possible measures based on customer needs through trial and error. Thank you for your hard work!

Festival foods to fill you up
It was my first time camping in a tent, but with all that exercise I did, I totally slept like a rock. When I woke up in the morning, the first thing I did was get something to eat. Last night I had ramen from Robo ROM-en (reliably delicious), so I wanted to try something different this time. Kebabs, meat dishes, omelets... there were so many options, but the buttery aroma of the baked potato won me over. The butter was shaped like a squid, and it was fluffy and delicious!

Shopping at the merch booth
The merch...there's nothing but things I want! For now, I’ve picked up a towel and some buttons. Should I get a plushie, too? Wait, is that DJ
Octavio?! The booth is swarming with Jellyfish; it’s really popular. Cuttlefish is here too!

Diving into battle today
I’d love to catch the live performances too, but to lead my team to victory, I gotta jump into the battles! You can get from the festival grounds to the battle lobby via a dedicated shuttle bus. Very convenient.

Won a 100x Battle! Getting on stage
I won a 100x battle and was able to stand on the special platform right in front of the stage. I was so excited, but also a little nervous being so close to the idols' performances. I'll surely never forget the view of the audience from here. Ah, I'm starting to tear up...

It's time for the finale!
Today, the three groups, the Squid Sisters, Off the Hook, and Deep Cut, have gathered on the Giant Clam Stage as the "Now or Never Seven." They’re here to perform their new song, "Three Wishes"!
Seeing all three groups in harmony, singing the same song for the very end... it’s just too emotional (Tears)... Let's dive into the waves of music right until the very last moment!

Everyone's hearts beating as one

awesome! I never expected the stage to move
around like that!! Oh no, I'm tearing up again.
