Chicagoland born and raised. Twin Citizen since 2000. Stop in Madison to learn a few things about a few things in between. Ya no wan test we…

My dialect test says I’m from Illinois, and the map is bright red in IL, WI, and MN. SHOCKING! Seriously, though…it’s also bright red in Florida?!? That’s strange to me.

Crib to myself this weekend. Might go see Isaiah Rashad tomorrow. Or might go see Coyote Vs Acme. Might not do either because I have a home observation an hour away Saturday morning. All kinda mights this weekend.

I’m on the Hennepin County Fatality Review Team and the Advisory Board for the team. We review domestic homicides in Henn Co to determine where interventions were missed and create recommendations for legislation to try to avoid these tragedies. Our group is being cut as of 12/31. 1/2

We deserve better. We can ask for better. "We have been told that we will now see a 20% cut to these life-saving services in the state of Minnesota starting on January 1 of this coming year, 2027." www.mprnews.org/episode/2026...

I’ve been having this exact conversation with anyone who would listen. Identify an issue (teen pregnancy), legislation passed which leads to successful outcome (drop in teen pregnancy), complain about obvious consequence decades later (drop in birth rate). Never good enough, always a problem.

Re LRP I cannot emphasize enough how we’re living in the ostensible dream reality of conservatives in the very recent past. Crime is down overall and particularly in cities like Chicago and Baltimore, teen pregnancy is down, drug and alcohol use is down among young people …AND YET

I’m on the Board of Directors at Turning Point, INC, a culturally specific chemical dependency treatment center in North Minneapolis. I’m also the Chair of our 50th Anniversary Gala, scheduled November 6. Consider joining us as we celebrate and look towards our future! Link in next post.
