Good things: This particular lavender latte, the morning glories and yellow flowers together in the alley, sibling pics from picture day, Anne Lamott, goats still got it.

Good things: Space Struck by Paige Lewis, the first pumpkin spice latte of the season, sweater weather, colorful shoes, the 2yo saying "mama you're beautiful!"

Good things: Telling the 2yo a story about when I was little and having her respond "again!" (eight times), open water swimming, frozen mango, the toothless grin of the 5mo, riding my bicycle.

When you ask the 2yo ”do you want to be picked up or do you want me to carry you?” she has always said “carry you!” Until today, when she said ”carry me!” and it’s never coming back, is it.

Good things: The baby smiling and wiggling oh my god, the 2yo running down the hallway and flinging herself at me when I got home, maple cream pie, cuddling my dog, sweetened condensed milk.

Chicago History Museum is doing an ad hoc free admission day tomorrow for Chicago residents in order to give people an air conditioned place to be during the day, which is a lovely move. Do other local museums do the same during extreme temps? I hadn't heard of it before.
