I know devs who have been looking for work for 2 years who have been applying at Walmart out of desperation. I know some that have gone homeless. Who rely on gfm's. The harm is absolutely real. All for a handful of dudes to buy a yacht.

Recently, FamilySearch digitized and uploaded tons of microfilmed records, including many from 18th-century Massachsuetts. They're using some sort of AI to transcribe/summarize the handwritten documents. I've noticed that the AI strips out references to race and enslavement in 18thc documents.
If electricity prices went up 76% to subsidize the solar industry, people would completely lose their shit. But doing it to subsidize the Slop Industry is apparently kosher.

The Voting Rights Act is essentially dead and it’s quite possible that we will, like when a similar SCOTUS gutted civil rights at the fall of Reconstruction, see a disappearance of much of the Black congressional representation, especially in the most heavily Black states, which are in the South.
I went to an ice rink for the first time ever today and didn't fall while skating! It was so much fun! Hopefully next time I can manage to venture farther from the wall.
