All I can say is that was a very Portland goal to give up.

@unionomaha.bsky.social and Charlotte Independence getting ready to take the field here, 90 degrees, feels like 93. Ever the gracious hosts, Omaha wearing black and allowing their hosts to wear white.
A very interesting starting lineup for the Owls against Charlotte tonight. There are some impact subs on the bench. Maybe with the heat, there is to wear the visitors down with some strong starters and strike late, as only Los Búhos can. We'll see how it works.

Ok Liverpool. But if this one ends 2-2 as well, I swear….
You have got to be ficking kidding me.
Hunter Morse would be a legit MVP candidate if he scored more goals.
Hunter Morse is doing what great keepers do. Portland is attempting to do more than just defend, and they’re making Charlotte work now. This is what Omaha supporters were hoping for.
Great save on Ollie Wroght’s penalty by Levy, but a great effort by MPA to put the rebound back. Somehow, the Hearts lead. Someone hide the bus keys from Bobby…
Really hope that goal woke Portland up some. It looks like it gave them a good jolt, just gotta keep pressing it and not play for the draw. They still could lose by pressing for a win on the road, but they need to fight for the win.
That was a good goal for Portland, if not in passing itself, in Kidd’s desire to get to that ball. He willed himself to get in there and put that shot past Levy.
Charlotte’s Skinner has been really good tonight. When Portland have been able to stifle some of the passing lanes, he’s taken on some key dribbles and broken lines on his own. Really hard to stop a team that can pass around you or dance around you.
Hot take: If you’re sitting on your ass with back to the keeper and engaged with a defender, you should never be offside. There is literally no advantage there.
Yeah yeah, momentum is with Ft. Wayne. But for real, Opta, in what world is Ft. Wayne depicted in Red with Richmond in Yellow/Gold!?
The waves have gradually gotten bigger and bigger for @fortwaynefc.bsky.social in the opening half, resulting in their late goal. @mikewattsonair.bsky.social and Devon Kerr with some halftime #USL-1 Awards picks right now during the halftime break. #USLonCBS
As an Omaha supporter, really needed to see HoP wear down Charlotte some before the Jacks show up here this weekend, if not make them drop some points. Not calling for injury, mind you, but need Charlotte to be in a grind of a match before heading on the road. That’s not happening so far tonight.
Coulibaly out there acting like the 6’4, 200-lb 8th grade linebacker on the other school’s JV team.
If Bakero wins the USL 1 MVP, he’s gotta give a shout to @leagueoneupdater.com. Just wish you’d waited until after he played Omaha to call him out like that.
Worth a listen. Very level-headed view of the rest of the season and what a Sporting Director might do for the club. Sometimes, just having the stress of additional duties lifted provides a bounce. We’ll see. Either way, don’t expect any indication on the coach’s future until post-season.
I don’t say great things about MLS usually, but this is good and welcome news. The prospect of a December final is intriguing since USL teams are often already out of their seasons/contracts by then, but I would expect some agreement could be found for if a USL team made the final.

Given conversations last week, curious how much optimism @derschattenwolf.bsky.social or @shawnfecteau.bsky.social have with Portland announcing a new Sporting Director today. Maybe too late for this season, but I can’t wait to hear your thoughts/expectations. www.heartsofpine.com/news/2026/08...

One thing I like about listening to this is the directness and honesty with which topics are discussed. And to add, I think you’re right about mid-40s for points. In years when 1/2-ish of the teams make playoffs it generally takes between 1.3-1.5 ppg (42-48 points this year).

Full Time in Omaha. A very disappointing performance sees NY Cosmos take a point out of Morrison. They were the quicker team for large stretches, and may have deserved all three points. Omaha couldn't get their game going, never really looked dangerous, and ultimately pull a 1-1 draw.
90' Allen looks like he's trying to will us to a goal on his own. Somehow he fights off three defenders to get a shot off. Garcia easily saves it, but it's the first shot we've put on in a long time this half.
86' Cosmos just a step quicker tonight on a lot of balls in the midfield, turning Omaha over a lot and really being disruptive to any kind of flow. This doesn't feel like a home performance at all.
77' So apparently Blake is playing the wing since coming on. The possession is favoring Omaha a little bit more, but we aren't doing anything with it. There haven't been any of the dangerous chances or near misses that usually come with a late Omaha charge.
70' Blake comes on for Cameron now, and I wonder who on the back line is going to shift to make room for Blake. Maybe Sam, since he has scored a couple late goals for us.
60' Kempes and Gabriel are coming on for Marlon and Laurence now for Omaha. Cosmos have yet to make a substitution. Still 1-1.
54' Another tunrover in midfield, another transition chance for Cosmos. This one sees a shot come in from Guenzatti that hits the near post and ricochets past Shido. The Owls ultimately recover, but they can't keep doing this and come out with three points tonight.
