I see so many people complaining about how MAGA harasses them in their comments & DMs. Then turn around and make allowance for toxic family members because, “they’re trapped in their algorithms and don’t see what we see online”. Both things can’t be true.

7 years after deconstructing white Christianity, I'm only now realizing that I’ve been living free from the constant pressure to turn every conversation into an evangelism opportunity. Incessantly scanning of every interaction for a chance to “witness” to someone.
Weird how the people who always tell us to "wait for all the facts" or "don't jump to conclusions" never circle back once the facts prove what Black people were saying all along.
The same people who heard their white friends call me the n-word in high school but insisted their friends weren’t racist now want me to believe the audio of Nolan Wells’s killers planning what to do with his body doesn’t prove they lynched him.
A church that fears losing influence more than losing integrity has already lost both.
White supremacy is remarkably effective. It has us investigating a murder* with missing body parts, governing democracy uncertain whether a senator is alive or dead, and treating both as unrelated stories. One system can normalize almost any absurdity—as long as it protects power. *allegedly

Sometimes I think about generational trauma on a practical level. Like how our parents fought racist white folks for integration & voting rights. Then had children who grew up in the same communities who had to fight new battles w/ the racist children of those original racist white folks…
