Here's some good news from Texas, where the state court of appeals found that the First Amendment protected a Texas history professor in writing about a conflict within the state's premier historical association, and that the AHA was protected in publishing it. 🗃️

61 years ago, on the 1st of August 1965, Frank Herbert's Dune was first published as a novel after a serialized run. The publisher, Chilton Books, was mainly known for printing auto repair manuals. Initial sales were poor. Critics reviewed it negatively due to the story being atypical. #otd 🗃️
