My GMTK entry did fine for a solo entry spanning 2 work days! A think enjoyment was lower bc some folks got soft-locked, which I suspect was bc the UI wasn't clear enough (I couldn't reproduce their errors). Still, folks seemed to like my VO work, which I had a blast doing. Really fun jam, overall!

It's wild to me that when I have a task that actually challenges me and feels good to do, I get the same neurological response as when I take my (prescription!) Adderall 💀

I contract at a mobile studio where everything is made with a lot of love by people who really care. It's really changed my perspective on $$ in mobile games and microtransactions that support hard-working humans. I've also self-published on mobile and it's HARD. So yeah, go pay them money.

My favourite thing about publishing games on mobile, is all the negative reviews saying “eww, the game costs MONEY?” “Why don’t you just do it for the love of making games?” they say OK, will do! I assume you do your own job for free “for the love of it” too, right?

I wasn't thrilled when I saw the theme for GMTK, but my game designer buddy was like "idk what about this idea" and now it's all I'll be thinking about for the next 4 days... Jam entry here we come!
