Irreverent anesthesiologist, law student because why the Hell not, sock knitter, funk band groupie. Posts are not medical or legal advice. Whatever you’re cooking, it needs more garlic.

MH runs in families. Families ride in cars Cars have accidents. Accidents cause injuries. Injuries might need surgery. Surgery happens at hospitals. Hospitals stock dantrolene to cover one dose for average patient . Some hospitals are remote from other sources of dantrolene.

The bar uses secure testing software. Here we have a long list of prohibited items including pens, highlighters, earplugs, phones and kleenex, and all our stuff must sit on the floor in a clear zip top bag. Then we all go home and upload our exams using our personal wifi.

Ordered something from Amazon. Tracking said delivery Friday, and I followed as it reached my state and left the distribution center. But it never went “out for delivery” and the latest is “delayed” until Monday. Makes me wonder where it’s going instead of here.

(Ahem) To get an accurate blood pressure you need to use the proper size cuff and the artery mark should be in line with the pulse. Also the cuff should not be over the elbow. Thank you.

The place I work planned to shut down for 4 weeks this fall to upgrade HVAC, and I was worried about my revenue stream. As of this week the shutdown has been postponed until spring, and my disappointment at missing time away from work is more upsetting than my previous worry about finances.

Today I’m having the most unhinged thought about taking the bar exam. Should I be eating raw fruits and vegetables 2 weeks ahead of the exam when there’s a cryptosporidium outbreak with unknown source? I can make muffins with the blueberries I just bought, but what about the cherries?

I'm wearing Old Navy Christmas pajama pants for studying. It's dual purpose. First, I'm comfortable. Second, it's incentive to stay here and study because if I went anywhere I'd have to put on more respectable clothes and that's more work than I feel like doing.

Every time I click one of those cloudflare I'm really human boxes I'm imagining what it's really doing is turning on the camera to see if I'm getting up to go to the bathroom or grab a snack while I'm waiting.

I miss the days when librarians shushed you if you made noise. This week I’ve endured a homeschooling session, a knitting group, a couple of Zoom calls and phone calls, and an air handler in the middle of the room. The air handler provides white noise, but not enough to drown out everything else.

Someone posted on my Facebook feed that the World Cup is like a sleepover with your cousins you never get to see because your parents hate each other and I believe that’s exactly what it is.

I’ve done it. I’ve pissed off Instagram enough they removed my post. I was responding to a chiropractor saying don’t treat symptoms with medicines. Figure out the cause and fix that. I replied that I know the cause but I get in trouble when I go all redhead on the surgeons mucking about so I give

I just got this off my cat in one brushing session. Last time I brushed him was (checks calendar) yesterday and I got about the same amount. He is not a long hair cat. This is why my home is in perpetual need of vacuuming.

Little things I learned while researching the legal aspects of Malignant Hyperthermia: The first suspicion that it was a genetic thing was in 1961 when a patient told his anesthesiologist that 10 family members had died during or after routine operations. Family tree showed dominant inheritance.

Just started a load of laundry. No big deal, except I started the same load yesterday and forgot it til bedtime. Prepared to move to dryer but realized it contains things that must come out and be hung up or they wrinkle and didn’t want to stay up later. So trying again. Wish me luck.

Picking up study tips during bar prep. I already respected my morning/evening energy and mid day slump, and white noise to stay focused. Now exam room ambience sounds. And from a podcast, get up and walk periodically. I think it's the walking that's letting me extend morning into mid afternoon.

Say what you want about AI, but I’m delighted that Chat GTP helped me refine a recipe for plant-based cream cheese substitute I could never have figured out on my own. So all the billions of dollars developing AI have not been wasted.

Yesterday: Received letter from state Supreme Court saying my fingerprint card was rejected for poor quality. Tomorrow: trip for fingerprinting at a different police department AND a live scan fingerprint. One of the little known risks of complying with handwashing requirements.

Lotta feels tonight. Tomorrow is the commencement I'm not attending in person because i can't justify time and expense for a ceremony where I'm not really graduating. And a friend who's had nasty complications after a routine surgery was discharged this evening. We hope he's over the worst of.

I miss having access to all the medical literature. I’m trying to research something for my independent study paper. Found a great article from JAMA but I can’t read it unless I pay $20. The article is from 1964.

This Saturday is law school commencement. Due to some stupid mistakes I made I still have one credit to make up so done in Aug. it feels wrong to be recognized for something that isn’t happening yet. But there’s no celebration in Aug. Do I attend and feel like a fraud, or skip and never be honored?
