When it rains, it pours. I have two rocks projects, some EDM writing, mixing, and mastering, and songs to write. Now I need more time...

It's School of Rock time again with my son. I'm listening to a band rehearse Funkytown. The kids are all right.
It's social media night! I'm stuck at 179 followers over on Thr3ads, so if you're over there, please hit me with a follow!
I understand they use proprietary file formats, but it would be really cool if I could explore effects chains from REAPER and import them into Cantabile.
I've gone from zero projects to like 6 in just a few weeks. When it rains, man...
I wonder if my opinions on AI will bring out the tech bros.
So streaming has been really tough to do lately. The studio has a LOT going on right now that I can't stream, which is both really cool and not at all at the same time. I've been collecting some ideas for videos, though.
I think about AI in the arts a lot. Like, a whole lot. And I ran into a post recently that expressed a perspective on why AI slop is not art that I want to expand on.
I think a lot about the intersection of music and politics. All music, especially modern American popular music, is political, whether the artist intends it or not.
I feel like being "politically neutral" as a musician is a super privileged position to take, especially right now. A lot of artists don't have the luxury, and those of us who do owe it to them to take a stand.
I started playing Minecraft with my kid again and now I'm going to have to quit my job because it's all I want to do now.
I have an almost-finished song that I really need someone to tell me to release.
As I dig into Cantabile, I think I'm going to do some videos on it. I feel like it's a relatively unknown gem for live and stream performance.
To my fellow musicians: Have any of you used Cantabile for live performance before? I just installed it and am kind of in love with it.
I've got 30 minutes to say something interesting and I'm drawing a blank.
Listening to my kid during his drum lesson makes me so damn proud.
Audio engineers... is your studio a ridiculous mess like mine, or are you weird and keep it clean?
When I collaborate with other artists, I kind of self-NDA, because I never know what they want to share or when. Just a rule I have for myself. But I have SO MANY great collaborations happening right now. SO. MANY.
If you want to support a small artist / audio engineer, consider following me on Bandcamp and YouTube. It doesn't cost a thing, and it helps me reach a wider audience. Here are the links: redwolfaudio.bandcamp.com youtube.com/@redwolfaudi... Please don't hesitate to repost, share, retweet, etc!

I'm notoriously super fucking bad at promoting my own music, so here's a link to the latest thing I released, back in April. redwolfaudio.bandcamp.com/track/dont-go

I really, really don't need to start becoming obsessed with guitar amps. Or effects pedals. Yet.
I don't consider myself an expert on anything in the music industry, but if there anything you'd like to hear my person experience on, I'd be happy to share.
I'm having that problem again where I want to do everything all at once. I really need to figure out how to prioritize.

The best bit of wisdom my audio engineering instructor has given me is: If it sounds good, it is good. There is no set formula, so try the weird shit. It might just work.
Please stop high-passing the life out of guitars. It's okay for them to take up a little space in the lower frequencies.
Fuck it... side-chain that kick to your vocal bus. Live like there's no tomorrow.
Audio engineers! What's the weirdest thing you've ever done to get a mix to sound right?
I really need to find a way to do this social media stuff that doesn't become all-consuming of my time.
Songwriters! Share your process for writing lyrics! I'm trying a new thing where I stream-of-consciousness write down ideas, thoughts and feelings on what I'm writing about and then try to work them into lyrics.
