Took a patient outside for the 1st time since admission. Always a privilege to do this, something everyone takes for granted. Imagine being reliant on others & unable to go outside for weeks...... Fresh air reawakens patients, and it's such a vital but simple act. #FreshAir @uhpnhs.bsky.social
Volunteering on a bank holiday always hits differently. Today was about helping our patients feel a little less like being in hospital - Garden visits with dogs, pampers & manicures. It was a privilege to spend my day this way. @uhpnhs.bsky.social
7yrs ago today I left @uhpnhs.bsky.social after 3mths and fighting for my life. It still feels like yesterday...& every day I am so grateful to EVERY part of #TeamNHS As time moves on the memories remain vivid. You never forget. Make the most of every day, search for the blue skies..... #NHS

A tricky volunteer shift today but overwhelmingly made better by taking a long stay patient to the garden. We shared our love of big band music, I told him about my saxophone, and we listened to the BBC big band on my Spotify. It was quite perfect 🥰 Happy Friday all.... @tantamkate.bsky.social
