I don't understand how folks interviewing for sr developer roles cannot write a simple SQL query or even talk about what's needed for basic pagination. Even in the age of AI, if you don't have any intuition around how the technology you are using works, at some point you're gonna have a bad time.

It’s a good time to be a software developer. Everything is shaken up and nobody knows what “best practice” means in the age of AI. So we get to be a part of defining it.

When you work on a team and need to update your branch with the latest from main, don't merge main into your feature branch unless you are going to squash merge later. I always prefer rebase. Look up rerere, it will make your life easier. #git #git-hygiene
