So much for "merit-based." The Trump administration has now admitted it canceled clean energy grants based on how states voted in 2024. Weaponizing taxpayer dollars to punish political opponents is a blatant abuse of power and an attack on our democracy.

Last week was the 3rd Annual Reason Reception – where advocates and members from all faiths, or none at all, came together to celebrate religious liberty, constitutional democracy, and the growing movement to protect these fundamental freedoms.

This man will do anything to illegally profit off being the president, no matter how brazen. Trump's newest textbook demonstration of corruption is buying up a bunch of stock, then hopping on Truth Social to promote the same companies and give those stocks a big boost. www.cnn.com/2026/07/16/u...

Trump promoted companies on Truth Social days after buying their stocks | CNN

Trump has promoted more than 20 companies on his Truth Social account days after buying stock in those firms, a CNN investigation found.

For the final day of this series, I'm reminded of something bigger than any one administration. From the very beginning, we've been called to build "a more perfect Union." That's work worth doing because this country, and the ideals at its core, are worth defending.

Some donors who intended to give money to America250, a bipartisan effort to celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary, were given routing and account numbers that directed their funds to Freedom 250, which President Trump established, House Democrats allege.

Donors were misled by Trump-backed Freedom 250, House Democrats allege

The lawmakers’ report alleges that Trump allies worked to divert funds away from America250, a bipartisan effort to mark the nation’s semiquincentennial.

Every American should be outraged by what Trump has done to our nation's 250th birthday celebration. What should have been a once-in-a-generation moment to unite the country has been turned into another vehicle for division, propaganda, and political gain.

Between Trump’s sham “religious liberty commission” and all the ways Trump has been trying to rewrite our history as a Christian nation leading up to America’s 250th birthday, Congress needs to make it crystal clear our government is not ruled by one religion.

For Day 2 of what California’s 2nd Congressional District loves most about America, I’m highlighting one theme that rose above the rest: Freedom. To be yourself. To believe what you believe. To speak your mind. Those freedoms belong to everyone, and I’m working every day to protect them.

Donald Trump can try to turn America's 250th into a gilded tribute to himself, but that's not who we are. Join me in celebrating what actually makes this country great: our people, our public lands, and our shared values.

Trump’s sham religious commission just released their report, and it’s what we all feared. They want to tear down the wall between church and state and inject extreme beliefs into the government. That's not religious freedom. It's an abuse of power that threatens the rights of every American.

I loved getting to take Joel Kurtzman, our winner of this year's Congressional Art Competition to see his piece hanging in the Capitol this week! His stunning photograph, “Golden Hour Fog,” captures the beauty of Mt. Tam. Thank you to all the students who shared their art with us!

This is a blatant assault on church-state separation. I guess Texas forgot that the First Amendment protects every American's right to practice any religion, or none at all. Public schools are responsible for educating students, not forcing one religion down kids’ throats.

Texas is set to pass what may be the first state-mandated book list for public school students. It includes Bible excerpts, which critics argue violates separation of church and state.
