People are scared, exhausted, and angry. ICE is using American tax dollars to fund mistreatment and abuse at detention centers across our country. Republicans and this president are ok with us being a country that implements this kind of cruelty, but we cannot be. This is not ok.

Despite his unwavering loyalty to Trump, weaponization of the DOJ, and role in empowering ICE violence, Todd Blanche was voted to advance by the Senate Judiciary Committee. A sad day for democracy. His nomination is headed to the full Senate—we will keep pushing to block it.

Families are paying more than ever for school supplies and groceries, and many parents are cutting back on other household expenses just to make ends meet. I introduced the Summer Meals REACH Act to expand free meals so every child can stay healthy, prepared, and ready to learn.

This is a pattern of abuse and neglect. I’m praying for the deceased and his family.

It’s always National Intern Day here—we’re so grateful for them! Today we said goodbye to our D.C. summer interns and we’re looking forward to one more week with our NJ interns. All of these students brought creativity, curiosity, and hard work to NJ-10! Bright futures ahead🌟

This week I visited the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris and learned about the range of services and resources they provide. It is pressing that we continue to promote mental health support across our communities. Everyone deserves support.

TPS for Haitians expired yesterday. Community members, business owners, and families— all are now at risk of deportation back to a county deemed “too dangerous to visit” by the U.S. government. The ending of this program is cruel and baseless; TPS protection must be reinstated.

Today marks 16 years since the last time federal minimum wage went up. While the minimum wage hasn’t gone up, the cost of basically everything else has— housing, groceries, healthcare, childcare. It’s long past time to raise the federal minimum wage.

When ICE finally agreed to meet with us I thought we'd get some answers. We got excuses. From day one, I've been demanding accountability, but time and time again ICE has failed to answer for its cruelty.

Me and @crockett.house.gov wondering why Republicans in Congress are louder about immigrant community members than they are about this Executive Branch trying to criminalize oversight and silence the people.

The Trump administration just won't work for working people. A Small Business Administration official who is supposed to support entrepreneurs is selling them out. Why? Because he can't stand up to Trump about the administration's bad budget that guts tools for business owners.

Yesterday, I introduced a bill that will fund the resources small businesses need and protect working people. The SBDC Program is one of the most effective tools the SBA has to level the playing field for entrepreneurs--so I'm protecting it from Trump's attacks.
