This month, our Youth Advisory Council (YAC) debated HB 1155, a bill that would require the University of Illinois System to divest its endowment funds from fossil fuel companies and adopt updated investment policies moving forward.

Last week, I joined an incredible panel at Harper College in honor of Women’s History Month. After the panel, I had such great conversations with students from Harper. It was an honest, thoughtful, and uplifting panel. Very grateful to have been a part of such a powerful and collaborative space.

This session, I’ve been fighting for transparency, public input, and stronger consumer protections this session and we're making real progress. Here's a quick update on some of the bills I’ve been working hard to move through the House and on to the Senate. 🏛️

Lots of engaging debate at our Youth Advisory Council meeting this past Monday! 🗣️ We debated the Children's Social Media Safety Act and issues that directly impact young people.

Last week, we had a two and a half hour committee hearing on my bill to establish a Prescription Drug Affordability Board (HB1443). The room was packed with lobbyists and pharmaceutical company representatives, taking turns to testify.

As Women's History Month comes to a close, I've been thinking about the inspiring panel I was part of earlier this month with the Local Talks podcast.

I had the privilege of attending the Annual Student–Lawmakers Substance Use Prevention Luncheon at Stevenson High School.

High school students in our community, this opportunity is for you! The Illinois Psychiatric Society is now accepting submissions for the Carl C. Bell, MD Memorial Award Essay Competition.

I served as the Keynote Speaker for the Illinois YMCA Youth & Government Opening Ceremony, where I joined over 1,000 student leaders from across the state!

On April 1st, I’ll be joining a panel of incredible leaders in our community to celebrate Women’s History Month. We hope you join us on Wednesday 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM at Harper College’s Performing Arts Center!
