Only 63% of adults say they can afford a $400 emergency expense, yet the average home repair costs $3,000.   That's why I fought to pass the Whole Home Repairs Act into law. The rising cost of living shouldn't leave you in a home with leaks, exposed wires, a damaged roof, or mold.

Proud to bring home $1,092,000 to the City of East Point to replace aging stormwater infrastructure along Norman Berry Drive. This investment is about easing families' worries with every heavy rain forecast, protecting our businesses, and keeping roadways safe. (1/2)

The Trump Administration admitted in court that it canceled nearly 300 energy projects in states that didn't vote for Trump—and then lied about it.   These projects would have created jobs, lowered energy costs, & invested in communities. Instead, Trump used taxpayer dollars to play politics. (1/2)

Trump's unauthorized war in Iran must end. We've lost servicemembers, more are being put in harm's way, & working families are facing a deepening affordability crisis because of this war.   I voted to end this war and rein in the reckless Trump administration.

House votes to restrict Trump's Iran war powers in latest rebuke over the conflict. The Senate is expected to vote soon on a similar measure. https://cnn.it/4wZX3m1

Sometimes things are not what they seem. Republicans put a bill on the floor that supposedly would ban members of Congress from trading stocks, but it actually included the SAVE Act—a voter suppression bill.   I voted NO because I will always stand up for our right to vote.

Trump’s violent ICE operations continue to terrorize communities, and families are living in fear after ICE’s latest deadly shootings. Instead of demanding accountability, House Republicans want to hand Border Patrol and ICE a blank check. (1/2)

Same lies, different day.   Trump’s lies are an attempt to lay the groundwork for undermining the next election. They are a deliberate effort to erode trust in our democracy and intimidate voters.    We'll keep fighting against every attempt to silence voters.

Just in: President Trump, who for years has sowed doubt about the security of American elections, just spoke about election integrity. Trump has long contended, without evidence, that he won the 2020 election.

I joined @jayapal.house.gov in demanding accountability for ICE's violent shootings. The American people deserve a full & independent investigation into the deaths, the fear these incidents have caused, & any efforts to deport eyewitnesses. We won’t accept this their pattern of denials & cover-ups.

DHS has a pattern of making unsubstantiated claims across numerous shootings that are later contradicted by evidence and witnesses. I'm leading nearly 200 House Democrats in demanding full, independent investigations and stopping ICE from deporting eyewitnesses.

FSC Democrats tried to subpoena Russell Vought, Acting Director of the CFPB. He’s required to testify before the committee twice a year, yet this was his first appearance in two years. The American people deserve accountability. They’re not getting it from this administration.
