These dollars will help Washington State Ferries better serve rural communities whose lives and livelihoods are tied to ferries. I will keep fighting for federal grants that make Washington’s ferry system more reliable and create good-paying jobs.

Enough is enough. It’s time for the Trump administration to stop playing political games and unlock the billions of infrastructure dollars being held hostage. Ranking Members Larsen, Warren and 40 Democrats demanded the release of this funding.
The President’s immigration enforcement agenda is hurting the local economy and making our communities less safe. That is why I am working to get answers for my constituents about the operations and policies at ICE's facility in Ferndale.
It was great to visit the environmental clean up work going on at the Bellingham Bay waterfront last week. In a few years, this site will be Salish Landing Park!
I have been a strong advocate for the Small Shipyards Grants Program because funding like this supports local small businesses and helps regional economies grow. I look forward to seeing these dollars in action in Snohomish and Skagit counties in the years to come.
Folks who want to start a family should have access to the health care they need to do just that. Last month, I met with doctors and advocates in Everett about my bill, the Right to IVF Act, which would create a legal right to access and provide IVF and other fertility services.
It is critical for public safety and the local economy that the Skagit Bay Dike be repaired before the next major storm. I secured $850K in federal funding for this project, and I was glad to see the work get underway last week.

Glad to see Spokane communities will get the support they need from the federal government. Thank you to all the firefighters and emergency responders that are working to save lives and livelihoods.
The federal government granted my request in full for an emergency declaration to help cities, counties, the state and tribes fight our record setting wildfires, with the exception of debris removal. We have support for emergency shelters, food and water, search and rescue. Read more here:
Large and fast-moving wildfires are spreading rapidly in Central and Eastern Washington. Today I joined the entire Washington state congressional delegation to urge the President to approve Governor Ferguson’s request for an expedited Emergency Declaration for these fires.
I went to the Ferndale ICE holding facility today to get answers for my community about this facility and how people are treated there. More details about what I saw: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aVaT...
Access to the world of books through libraries changes lives. Prison libraries provide incarcerated people with important tools and opportunities for growth, and this bill will study their effectiveness to reinforce the work they do to help incarcerated people return to society successfully.
I visited the Secret Creek Fish Passage project today with WSDOT, Granite Construction and Associated General Contractors of America to discuss how this project will restore five miles of upstream habitat for salmon and provide a wildlife passage beneath I-5 and Highway 99.
Yesterday, I joined the Northwest Straits Commission and Puget Sound Restoration Fund to hear about their work to protect local kelp forests, pinto abalone, Olympia oysters and other marine species.
More uninsured people means higher health care costs for everyone and sicker family members, friends and neighbors. This is the direct result of Republicans' failure to extend the ACA tax credits and their devastating cuts to Medicaid in the Big Ugly Law.
After Obamacare Cuts, Hospitals Are Treating More Uninsured Patients
More people who lost coverage after congressional Republicans ended enhanced federal subsidies are now seeking care in emergency rooms and unable to pay bills.

The President must cut the BS and get to work. It is time to negotiate in good faith to enhance and renew USMCA, and fully enforce the provisions of the agreement to help lower prices and create good-paying jobs. www.seattletimes.com/opinion/why-...
For WA's economy, Trump must renegotiate this trade pact | Op-Ed, U.S. Rep. Rick Larsen
The president has tried and failed to grow the economy through tariffs. What the U.S. economy needs instead are strong, mutually beneficial trade relationships.

People I represent need answers on whether the Coast Guard is prepared to effectively respond to oil spills in light of the increase in oil tanker traffic that the new Alberta to B.C. pipeline will create.
My five things that are worth the money.
The numbers don’t lie: President Trump’s economy is crushing Northwest Washington families.
This week's Recap with Rick: pressing for answers on the Coast Guard's oil spill prevention plan to protect marine habitats in Northwest Washington and voting for the sixth time to stop Trump's war in Iran.
For many Americans, fertility treatments like IVF are essential to start a family. The Right to IVF Act will guarantee access and expand coverage for IVF and other fertility services.
Today I voted once again to stop the President from attacking Iran. All Americans have gotten out of this unjustified war is higher prices. Congress is sending a clear message to President Trump: stop the war. Lower prices.
I voted no on the House version of this year’s National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) because it raises the defense budget to $1.15 trillion, paving the way for the Administration to continue spending billions of dollars on Trump’s unjustified war in Iran rather than lowering the cost of living.
Republicans’ short-term government funding bill is a dead end. Senate Republicans have said they will ignore it. It was written without any Democratic feedback. Even the White House says it is incomplete.
The people I represent need answers on how the new Alberta to B.C. pipeline is going to affect Northwest Washington communities. I will keep pressing the Coast Guard to ensure that oil spill prevention planning accounts for increased oil shipments in the Salish Sea.
The Administration must reverse course to protect Northwest Washington's maritime industry. I will keep pressing for answers until the Administration stops waiving the Jones Act and threatening local shipbuilding jobs.
What the hell, Mr. President? Cut the BS. End the tariffs. Renegotiate USMCA. Lower prices.
Trump imposes 50% tariffs on Canadian goods, citing disputes over autos, alcohol and cheese
President Donald Trump has imposed 50% tariffs on most Canadian goods, declaring that Canada has unfairly discriminated against American autos, alcohol and dairy products.

Americans want lower prices and less war, and they are getting higher prices and more war from the Trump administration.
